The only cereals that are 2.50 at my store were cheerios, honey nut cheerios, total, honey nut chex, and golden grahams. There are others in the promotion to get the gift card but they are more expensive.
I just asked that today and they told me it takes 15 minutes for the gc to activate and be used on another purchase. So if you had some time to kill then yes, otherwise you can use it on your next weeks groceries. 🙂
The Smiths in Sandy 9400 S and 20 E will only give you one $5 gift card, even if you do more than one transaction, the store manager says it states 1 per person in the add??
It says Limit 1 reward per transaction. So you should be able to break them up into seperate transactions. You could go to a different checker for each transaction if you have to. I’m not sure how they do it so maybe if go to the self checkout if your store has them?
The ad states 1 per Transaction.. not per person, per visit etc. If your store lets you do more than one transaction then that would be ok I think. I did several transactions this morning at 2 different Smiths in Salt Lake and both were ok with it.
Smith’s in Syracuse said there was NO limit. They are asking customers to do no more than to 4 or 5 transactions at one time, just so lines don’t get too backed up. As far as the gift card not working right away–that wasn’t the case for me. I did 3 transactions back to back and used my gift cards right then.
My cashier told me that we had to wait 15 minutes to use the gift card but she let me “try” and use it and it worked so she did it for me…I did 4 transactions no problem!
I purchased 4 Nestle chocolate chips, and used two of the $1.50/2 coupons, making the total $5. When I went through the checkout, it gave me $3 off my next order!
The Smiths in West Jordan, was awsome they let me use my gift card on my next transaction and even offered it!! I didn’t have to ask. I paid .93 a box and got 8 boxes. I’m going back tomarrow for my grandpa he could use some cheap cereal, heck we all could, it was AWSOME!! Thanks Melea. O if you want to go to the one I did and get awsome service it was 9000s Redwood Rd.
I did this deal in Murray, UT and the cashier said I had to wait 30 minutes for the gift card to activate…but I asked another Smith’s employee and he said, “No, we are suppose to say that but it works right after you get it”. Just go to another check out lane.
I went to the Smiths on 9400 South/2000 East yesterday afternoon was able to do 2 different transactions and get 2 $5.00 gift cards. Just wondering if anyone can also comment on the 200 reward points being added to your card for each transaction. Yesterday, since I did 2 different transactions, I received 200 reward points each time, for a total of 400 points. Just wondering though if they have changed it today so it is only 1 200 reward points per card vs. per transaction. Any thoughts??
I did 2 transaction yesterday with no problems getting the 200 points per transaction. Then I went this morning and got the 200 points on my first transaction and then my next one they did not come up. The cashier did not know why so she called a manager and they just put them on… So maybe it now is just one per card.
I was told the points were supposed to be 200 per CARD not trasaction, and that it was a computer glitch that they would be fixing and making things the way they advertised at 200 points per card…..
I went to my Smith’s on 9400 S. 2000 E. yesterday and after I got home I realized I got charged $5 for the gift card, so I had to go back and get it straightened out. If you go there be sure and check your receipt, who know how many others were charged and didn’t realize it. Also they were not very friendly about letting me make another purchase and receiving another gift card since I was using the gift card for a second transaction. My daughters have gone to different locations and had no problems.
I did this at the Smiths in Cedar City last night and was able to use the gift cards immediately. I had a bunch of other groceries on my last transaction but he rang the cereal first, handed me the gift card and I used it on that same transaction (not sure if he was supposed to do that). I also got a catalina for $2 off any 5 boxes of GM cereal with each transaction! So I ended up with $21 in discounts after my 3 transactions, SCORE!
