I’ve briefly talked about this before, but everything is moving digital. Offers are going digital, coupons are going digital, even Freebies2Deals is digital with the Freebies2Deals App! There are SO many ways to save money with Apps popping up left and right that you really need to have a SmartPhone so you can access all of them. Everyone has an app these days and they are all offering freebies, high-value discounts, coupons and more if you use them in-store. So in my opinion, a SmartPhone is something every family should have at least one of so you can save on your groceries and the rest of your in-store shopping. I know it may be an added expense you feel like your family can’t afford. However, all you need to do is find a promotion that makes your SmartPhone FREE. Then, sign up for a great deal for unlimited data or included data. If you do both of those things, the cost will be much less than you thought. And honestly, you will save more just by using eCoupons on a G

Printing coupons can get expensive.. especially because Printer Ink isn’t cheap. So when reader Emily asked me to give some tips on how to save on Printer Ink, I thought it would be a great post for today to help you all out. I personally think that newspaper coupons will be gone within the next couple of years and everything will be online and digital. Not to mention that some awesome coupons are only available by printing online. So here are your tips to save money on Printer Ink and stretch it as far as it will go: Change your printer settings to print coupons in black & white. By doing this, you will save your color ink and if you run out of black, you will only have to replace that cartridge–not all 4. Make sure you don’t print in grayscale. Sometimes coupons won’t scan when they are printed in grayscale. But coupons are always accepted if you print them in B&W. Don’t cut your coupons until you are ready to use them. Sometimes you have

So…. What Happens When You Just Don’t Want to Save Money??

This is a topic that I don’t think I have ever covered on Freebies2Deals before. So I thought it was time. There are so many ways to save money on things. And sometimes there are multiple ways to “Stack” coupons or savings on one item. All of a sudden, you might find yourself weighing if that extra deal or discount is worth it or worth your time to use it. As a mom, I am always trying to get things done quickly. With appointments, work, school, dance classes and everything else that needs to get done in a day, my time gets precious and having to weigh my time against the amount saved is definitelysomething that becomes a factor. Your time might be the same way! I don’t ever find myself not wanting to save money at all. That’s just out of my nature. 😉 But sometimes I do ask myself how far I am willing to go to save a little extra. For example, you might have used coupons and Price Matched at the grocery store. You might have even taken the time to use

The Coupon World is Changing… How it Effects YOU and Saving Money!

Things are definitely changing when it comes to couponing. Unfortunately, you can thank the show, Extreme Couponing, and those who took advantage of the system after that show aired for all of the changes. :( After a few seasons of that show, grocery stores started changing coupon policies. We have been watching that happen for the last 2 years or so here on Freebies2Deals and I’ve been posting all of those policy updates. (If you have been a reader for awhile, you know what I am talking about.) Now the coupon world is changing. Coupon values have gone down and newspaper subscription prices have gone up across the Country because less and less people are actually reading a hard-copy version of the news. Most get their news online. Now we are seeing more and more digital ways to save money–whether that is from Apps, Online Rebate Platforms, Digital Coupons or shopping grocery items online. So what is going to happen now? I still think couponing is a valuable part of any

Is Your Coupon a Fake?

Ever wonder if a printable coupon you run across is a Fake?? Sometimes people will forward an awesome coupon to you via email and your first thought is “Awesome”! But, most of the time, those coupons that are too good to be true are actually fake. So how do you know for sure? The Coupon Information Corporation actually has a page dedicated to alerting you to Fake Coupons. And Fake coupons are added to that list all of the time. If you didn’t know, creating counterfeit coupons is actually against the law. And you can get jail time for it. So, it is definitely something that the CIC takes seriously. They even offer cash rewards for people who have information leading to the conviction of those creating the Counterfeit Coupons. How Can You Tell on Your Own if a Coupon is Real or Fake? 1- If a coupon is sent in a PDF, (meaning you can print as many as you want) almost always means it is a fake coupon created by someone other than the actual company. The actual co

Coupons in your Newspapers are Different for Everyone

If you get a Sunday only newspaper subscription, you get the Coupon inserts that come each week. I’ve had a few comments lately about people being disappointed that their coupon amounts are different than what other people are gettting. So, let me help explain why. Every region will get different inserts. Some will get the same coupon with different areas getting a higher coupon value. And, some just won’t get the coupon at all. Manufacturers decide which areas will get the coupons and why. It could be because they are lacking in sales in that area, are doing market research on individual products or that product is only available in certain areas. For example, Utah gets lower value coupons all of the time. It’s something I have just come to accept. Couponing is very popular in Utah. So, my guess is that is why we get lower value coupons than the rest of the country. So, while I might post a $1.00 off coupon in my matchups… because the majority of the

Warehouse Clubs Vs. Grocery Store Deals and Coupons!

A common question I get all of the time is whether or not having a membership at a Sam’s Club or Costco is really worth it. Instead of me making the decision for you, let me give you a few of my thoughs and facts about Warehouse Shopping Vs. Coupon Shopping. There are a few staples that I always purchase at Costco instead of a Grocery Store. Even with a great deal and a coupon, Costco wins out. Those items are Kirkland Baby Formula (their store brand) and Trash Bags! And every now and then I will see better Blu-Ray prices, or baked good prices. I have never been able to find a better price per trash bag than I have at Costco. And, because of that, I go every couple months to get another HUGE box of them. They last forever! One of the things I always see people purchase at Costco is Baby Wipes and Diapers (any brand). Unless you are getting those diapers for $.10 each and those Wipes for $.01-$.02 each, you are not getting a deal and could easily find a better price with Ama

New to Couponing?? Start with One Store at a Time!

When you are brand new to couponing, it can be really overwhelming trying to get deals at different stores, understand all of the coupon policies and learn how to use coupons on top of it all. One of the best pieces of advice I can give you is to start with one store at a time- working from the easiest to the hardest. So, start with a Walmart or a Target. Their couponing policies are pretty basic and you won’t have to deal with Register Rewards or Extra Care Bucks or other weird promotions from stores. After you have been using your coupons at one of the easier stores, feel comfortable knowing the coupon policy and how to make the store work for you, then you can move on to another store. If you can work your way through stores like this, it won’t seem so overwhelming and it can help make the couponing idea a lot less stressful. After you feel comfortable with a few of the easier stores, then move on to places like CVS and Walgreens. They both offer in-store promotions

Make Sure You Shop Around! Impluse Buying = Bad

My husband needed new running shoes. He has started to run each morning and what he had previously just wasn’t working out anymore. So, two nights ago he went to Finish Line with a friend to see what they had. He came home with a great pair of shoes and was really excited about it. But, the very next morning, I was online and found a coupon code that would have gotten his shoes $20 cheaper. AAHHH! Oh man, I hate it when that kind of stuff happens. But, I’m guessing it probably happens a lot- not only to our family, but to yours too. When you know the starting price of the item you are purchasing, you will be able to tell right away if what you are purchasing is a deal, or if you should wait. And sometimes impulse buying can really throw a wrench in your bargain plans. We are able to purchase the deal online and take our receipt in to get the difference. So, we can get that $20 back. But, then you have to figure out if driving all the way to the mall (waste two trips
