Joshua Wertheim
President

Joshua has over 30 years experience in EDRMS technology, and a specialty in document management systems, starting his career in the mid-1970s as a Systems Engineer with IBM. Josh rose through the systems engineering ranks to become a Legal Specialist and a Personal Computer Specialist in the 1980s, earning numerous awards including being recognized twice as Systems Engineer of the Year in the GSD Division.

In the mid-1980s Joshua left IBM and began offering consulting advice to law firms and corporate law departments utilizing IBM systems. Eventually in the late 1980s he began working with PC DOCS, a new start-up company that had developed one of the first document management systems for IBM-compatible computers, WordPerfect, and Novell Netware. Josh's firm was the first reseller/business partner of PC DOCS, and attended their very first partner meeting, held at the Marriott hotel across the street from their headquarters in Tallahassee, FL.

As PC DOCS grew, so did Josh's stature in the industry. In 1994 he formed Wertheim Inc., an integration partner with PC DOCS, and one of the first organizations to be certified on their DOCS Open platform. Wertheim Inc. had many accomplishments, including the first DOCS Open implementation using Oracle, at Pfizer; and the implementation of DOCS Open at Donaldson Lufkin and Jenrette (DLJ, which was later acquired by Credit Suisse), which required the development, from scratch and without documentation, of tools to migrate DLJ from FileNet. Wertheim Inc. won the PC DOCS integrator of the year award for the DLJ implementation, when at the time it had only 3 employees. It won that award again two years later, for its combined achievements in numerous implementations and migrations.

In 1996, his company began introducing add-on product for DOCS Open. The first product, WincSync, was developed for a large law firm in Philadelphia that had eight libraries and needed a method to synchronize metadata across all libraries. Portions of WincSync's technology is patented and, 13 years later, nobody else has been able to figure out how it works or develop a better metadata synchronization method. WincSync has saved its users hundreds of thousands of hours, and millions of dollars, in productivity.

The second product, WincWall, was developed a couple of years later and was initially installed in the corporate legal department of one of the world's largest banks. WincWall's mission is to secure documents based upon profile metadata, such as clients, matters, deals, properties, etc. Many hundreds of clients, and two platform upgrades, later it continues to be the best general-purpose security system for legal, banking, investment banking, government and commercial users worldwide.

Many products soon followed: WincTools, a general-purpose administrative toolkit; WincArchive, a document replication system; DMSSync, a network-to-DM user and group synchronization tool; Crosswind, an Interwoven to DM migration utility; and DMFolders, an incredible suite of tools to automate everything related to folder creation, subscription, pruning, security, and content aggregation.

Over the years, Wertheim Inc. became EIM International; PC DOCS was acquired by Hummingbird, which was subsequently acquired by Open Text; Open Text enhanced its offerings to include eDOCS 5.x, 6.x and Enterprise; and Joshua left EIM behind and formed Wertheim Global Solutions. The mission of Josh's firms has remained the same: to provide the highest quality service; the highest-quality solutions; and the highest standards of fairness, integrity and ethics in the industry we serve.

With Wertheim Global Solutions, Josh has implemented his vision of offering our solutions on a global rather than regional basis. As a result, the firm is invested heavily in our global relationship with Open Text and its employees, partners and clients. As of September 2011, the firm has three dozen business partners worldwide, on four continents (North and Central America, Europe, Africa, and Oceania).

We remain committed to the Technology Partnership we have with Open Text and to supporting all Open Text platforms. Our clients' satisfaction is our number one priority, and the testimonials on our web site are examples of how we have met this challenge. We solve problems, we improve processes, we increase productivity, and we save money for each and every one. And, we do that with a pride in our business relationships, and the way we treat each other, that we believe cannot be found elsewhere.
