Comment: What can we say! The hotel was better then we could have ever dreamed of. I booked the hotel as a 50th birthday treat for my partner and from the moment we stepped into the hotel I knew we were in for a treat. The room was lovely and the view, wonderful to wake up to. Dinner was superb and the cocktails, another delight we decided to indulge in. Breakfast, the following morning certainly set us up for the day. Our only disappointment was that we were only staying for one night. Our stay in the Zanzibar will certainly be repeated and hopefully very soon!

Comment: This is wonderful small hotel, each room is unique and we chose Morocco, beautifully decorated and quirky. The ambiance and quality are truly lovely. The staff are friendly and helpful and very approachable. Food in the restaurant is of the highest quality and breakfast was a really good choice, the glass of champagne added the wow factor. The owner is passionate about his hotel and it shows! Would I come again - most definitely !!!

Comment: As someone who stays in hotels 3 nights a week it was really good to stay somewhere interesting. Lady who greeted me on arrival was fab and dinner very enjoyable. I stayed in the Morocco which is interesting but not really practical. Wet shaving impossible in tiny sink and stairs to bed need a bit of thinking about. That said room was warm & comfortable and really good fun. I think my overall take on hotel was very very pleasant, friendly and funky. I will most certainly be trying some of the other rooms during the year.

Comment: I was very pleased with my stay in the South America room, it was just as it looked in pictures. The staff were very welcoming and happy to talk about the local area. The dinner in the restaurant was lovely and so was the breakfast. Amazing view from the room, which was clean and well stocked. Would love to come back and try all the other rooms.

Comment: We were both very impressed with the hotel and Pier Nine restaurant which we will be eating in again in the not too distant future.
We were able to have a look at Manhattan and Antarctica and next time we visit will book Antarctica for its decor and superb outlook onto the seafront. We were VERY impressed!!

Comment: Fabulous!! I cannot recommend this hotel high enough!

We stayed in the Manhattan suite for a couple of nights. The whole experience was amazing, from start to finish.
The apartment is finished to a high standard and has a number of perks to enjoy such as a hot tub in front of the King-size soft bed! Another lovely touch is the Juke Box! And... you can enjoy watching gold fishes swim under your coffee cup on the coffee table!
The kitchen is amazing and the view from the windows is simply breath-taking.

The breakfast was delicious and was served on a tray in the room. You can choose from a variety of foods + you have a newspaper waiting for you under the door at 8 am! With it came a card indicating what the weather would be like on the day and suggestions where to go and places to see!

We also dined in the PierNine Restaurant. I have to say that the food was exceptionally good! I had scallops - the best I have ever had!

The hotel sits like a gem in a row of terraced houses on the sea-front. It is a real diamond in a place that (apart from the sea front) is not all that appealing. However, a short walk along the sea front would take you to the old town of Hastings, which is a place you just HAVE to go to if you are into antique items, books and good food!

All in all, a 5 star experience!

Comment: Made a happy birthday!! I booked the Zanzibar on line after finding your website while I was looking for something different to take my wife to celebrate my birthday.
The website was so good that often the actual hotels do not match expectations. However, in this case the Zanzibar was amazing. We stayed in Africa where we could watch the tide come in from our window. The room was beautifully decorated and the experience of the spar bath is beyond words.
We had dinner in your restaurant and it was simply a treat to our senses. My wife keeps talking about 'that meal'.
My wife says you need to keep hold of your chef.
We had breakfast in our room and it was the best hotel breakfast experience we have had in a long while.
We could well be back to sample another escape in another country at your unique hotel.

Comment: Amazing! I surprised my husband with a stay at the Zanzibar hotel for his 40th birthday. We were immediately made welcome by Max who met us at the door. When he found out it was my husbands birthday he upgraded us to the South America room..... Wow!!!! We were blown away. We have never stayed anywhere like this before. It was complete luxury. Max and his team have thought of everything. You cant fault this gem of a hotel. The food was also superb and the touch of being able to have a romantic breakfast in your room was really special.

Comment: Lovely boutique hotel. Stayed in the India Room with lovely Jacuzzi bath and had an amazing experience from start to finish. Staff were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Lunch at Pier Nine was delicious and the champagne breakfast was even better with more food than you could wish for. Max the owner has done a superb job and we will be going back.

Comment: Fantastic stay! The friendly staff made us very welcome the moment we arrived! The room was fantastic, lovely jacuzzi bath is big enough for two, and the Monsoon shower was amazing!! Had breakfast  in our room on the first morning, which was amazing and beautifully presented! Had lunch at  Pier Nine, again amazing!! Steak cooked to perfection! Comment: Our room at the Zanzibar was special indeed. It had every amenity including a huge soaking tub, a jukebox, an aquarium/coffee table, and a giant Buddha covered in mirror tiles. On the top floor it overlooked the beach along the English Channel.

The food was excellent and service generally quite good. The only glitches were a mix up in the dinner order one evening and somewhat sluggish service at one of the breakfasts. But these weren't enough to degrade our enjoyment. Highly recommended

Comment: We took a break from family and this was the most wonderful little hotel I have ever stayed in. Wow!! steam bath, champagne breakfast in our room, sauna, spa and different oils in our room! This was just pure heaven. Food, service from staff, sea view was just sheer luxury and amazement. I will certainly find it difficult to accept anything lower than the Zanzibar in future  Will definitely stay here over and over.  I have been telling everyone I talk to about this place. Comment: Just returned from a wonderfully relaxing and very tranquil stay in the amazing Manhattan room for my husbands 40th birthday. We were looking for something with the Wow factor and the Zanzibar sure has that. The staff were very polite and helpful. The restaurant food was delicious and very well presented, the option to eat in your room was a really nice touch also. Sea views from the room were very calming and the resident seagull who we named Bill visited our window daily to be hand fed which was very entertaining.

Comment: It was everything it said it would be, advice in room information notebook to chill out was just right. Room was excellent as was food in restaurant and staff were lovely. As we drove along the seafront on arrival first impressions of the area were not good but once you scratch the surface we fell in love with Hastings. We will be returning to the Zanzibar and hope to stay in Africa.

Comment: I booked this hotel as a surprise for my husbands birthday and I couldn't of chose anywhere better. Everything was perfect from our welcome, our room (The Manhattan) the staff and the food. We were thoroughly spoilt with the choice of breakfast which was delicious, unfortunately we didn't have time to have lunch/dinner in the hotel as we were often out all day but from what we could see on the menu it looked great. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for that something extra special and we will definitely be re-booking for next year.
