VANTAGE

VANTAGE occurs during your 6-period school day. You are here for either two or three hours, depending on the area of study. Global Business is our only three-hour strand. You will be at MHS during the rest of your school day in the traditional classroom.

There is no cost to register for VANTAGE. Some students are under the impression that you need a car to participate. You do not. We have shuttles and bus service for getting to/from VANTAGE and site visits. Many students drive, and you can carpool if you have a project team meeting.

VANTAGE started as a business program ten years ago, and we still have great VANTAGE strands for business. We have strands that are not business-related. All strands incorporate experiential and project-based learning, but not all are related to business.

It depends on the VANTAGE strand. We have VANTAGE strands consisting of all AP, IB, or CIS. Other strands are all general-level classes, and some are mixed. We recommend students pick the strand most interesting to them. Many students do their only AP, IB, or CIS courses at VANTAGE, and they are glad they did. You are here for two or three periods, so you have the opportunity to develop close relationships with your teachers and receive the support you need. 

CIS (or CITS) stands for "College in the Schools" and is a way to take college-level courses at the high school. It is similar to PSEO, AP, and IB. For the CIS or CITS courses at VANTAGE, you will receive a University of Minnesota transcript with credits (for free) while still in high school.

At VANTAGE, we always say to dress for the day. Most of the time, this means business casual. There is a reason for this requirement. When students show up professionally, they are more successful. We have a guide to what is acceptable .

We have almost 500 students enrolled in VANTAGE this year at the VANTAGE and MOMENTUM Building, located at 5735 County Road 101, Minnetonka, MN 55345.

VANTAGE is a full-year program. When you register for VANTAGE, you are signing up for the year.

VANTAGE is available to grades 10-12. VANTAGE Computer Science and Design + Marketing are the two strands offered to sophomores. Students can enroll in VANTAGE for one or all three years. We recommend connecting with your counselor to help fit it into your schedule.
