Named Funds

Named for former Deephaven and Minnewashta principal Bradley G. Board, this monetary award for a Minnetonka elementary education teacher or professional staff is given every May.

Established by the Class of 1964 in conjunction with their class reunion in 2019, one college scholarship will be awarded each May to a Minnetonka High School senior.

Established by an anonymous donor, this scholarship fund alleviates travel expenses for students in the International Studies Program (ISP) at Minnetonka High School with demonstrated financial need. Applications are approved by the International Studies faculty and awarded twice each school year, in advance of ISP trips abroad.

This fund was established by the friends of Judy Erdahl in 2021 to honor her memory as an Early Childhood & Family Education coordinator and parent educator.  The fund will annually provide an award to a compassionate teacher or staff member in the Minnetonka Public Schools District who demonstrates a high commitment to child-centered excellence.

Dr. Michael Lovett, former Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, was instrumental in planning and establishing The Writing Center at Minnetonka High School. This scholarship helps students pursue individual writing opportunities in the summer.

The Minnetonka Alumni Associatio n funds extraordinary opportunities for Minnetonka teachers and students in the areas of fine arts, science and technology, and student well-being. Implemented by the foundation's annual teacher grant process, funds are given every April.

The Minnetonka Unified Community Fund was established in 2023 to honor the special needs athletes of Minnetonka High School and contribute to Minnetonka's efforts to promote inclusivity in its community. One scholarship will be awarded each spring to a Minnetonka High School senior.

The Momentum Memorial Fund was established in honor of James ‘Jamie’ Olinger to support Minnetonka High School students in the Momentum program who will be pursuing a career in trades or a technical field.  A scholarship will be awarded each spring to a Minnetonka High School senior and/or funds will be granted to students who needs assistance with course fees for materials.

The Sundem Family Scholarship Fund was established to honor the Minnetonka teachers of Gary Sundem, Gail Sundem Noller and Gwen Sundem Jansen. Gary Sundem was recognized as one of the Minnetonka Alumni Association’s Distinguished Alumni Award winners in 2015, which prompted the establishment of this scholarship fund. One college scholarship will be awarded each May to a Minnetonka High School senior.
