Minnewashta’s first grade classes took the lead in coordinating the school’s efforts. “The kids were very excited to host a book drive as they are all growing so much in their reading abilities in first grade,” said teacher Joy Gresham. “The idea of donating some of their favorite books to other kids who could enjoy them was very exciting!”
The 35,292 books received through this grant will impact countless students across all elementary schools for years to come.
The Minnetonka School Board has unanimously voted to put forth a referendum in November asking voters to consider an $85M Building Bond. It has been 29 years since the school district last presented residents with a building bond referendum to support construction projects in its schools.
