Purcell Smith III, M.D. Orthopedic Surgeon, was born in Fairbanks, Alaska, Dr. Smith’s family moved to Arkansas where he receivedhis undergraduate degree from Austin College in Sherman, Texas. Dr. Smith III received his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Science and pursued further training in hand surgery through a fellowship at the University of Florida JHM Health Center.
Dr. Smith III is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is licensed to practice in Texas and Arkansas and keeps current with medical advances by attending frequent post-graduate continuing education courses in orthopedic injuries. Dr. Smith III and his wife, Susan, live in Plano.
