What it is Physical Medicine?
Physical Medicine (PM&R), also known as physiatry, is a type of medicine dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disorders that may produce temporary or permanent impairment and functional disability. With our approach to conservative musculoskeletal / spine care and using the latest in electrodiagnostic testing methods these types of ailments are able to be approached from a more holistically. Generally, that means these tests can more accurately ascertain injuries to the nerves or nerve roots, or diagnose diseases of the nerves and muscles. The resulting tests can provide alternative, non-invasive treatment methods such as physical therapy, medication and injections.

, our Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation specialist is a board certified nerve, muscle, bone and joint expert, treating patients of all ages, both children and adults in multiple areas:

What to expect
Dr Dauber treats a variety of disorders from sprains and strains of the back, neck, shoulder, arm or leg, to pinched nerves including carpal tunnel syndrome or radiculopathy, to herniated discs, sports related injuries, work related injuries and motor vehicle injuries. As a physiatrist, our physician is trained to diagnose and treat numerous musculoskeletal and neurological disorders utilizing a variety of non-surgical options.
Once you start treatment, you will be under the care of our PM&R physicians. You can expect them to:
- Diagnose and treat pain
- Restore maximum function lost through injury, illness or disabling conditions
- Treat the whole person, not just the problem area
- Provide non-surgical treatments
- Explain your medical problems and treatment/prevention plan
