- How do most people carpool?

At MHS, only ONE car is allowed on campus in the permitted lots. Therefore, carpooling means:
- Two or more students (juniors or seniors, both having a driver's license) ride together daily.
- For Appointments or special circumstances, students can supplement with a Daily pass* & have one person park in the lower lot by Einer football field/dome when a 2nd car is needed on campus.

- What if our schedules (open hours) or extracurriculars don’t match up?

I have open 1st hour or last hour & my partner doesn’t- or- this semester works- but next semester does not
- All parties carpool for 1st hour- 6th hour,
- -or- Find a way to work it out through sharing.
- For appointments or special circumstances students can supplement with a Daily pass* & have one person park in the lower lot by Einer football field/dome when a 2nd car is needed on campus.
- OR- Find another licensed 11th/12th grader with a parking permit to carpool with.
- OR- Forfeit your permit.

- We no longer are friends and don’t want to drive together - can we get another permit?

No, we hand them all out at the start of the year. Your Choices are:
- To find a way to work it out through sharing.
- If one participant finds another carpool to join, the other can find a licensed 11th/12th grader to add to the current carpool. Please note- both carpool participants must agree to this. (carpool permits must stay carpool permits)
- OR- Forfeit the permit.

- My senior would like a solo pass - what are their chances of getting one?

Solo passes are for licensed seniors only (Juniors are not eligible).
- They are drawn by lottery- there is no guarantee you will get one.
- Due to the number of applicants in previous years, not all seniors received a solo pass.

- We live out of district, do we get priority?
- No, this does not give priority.

- My student has an afterschool job -or- is active in sports, does that get us priority?
- No, this does not give priority.
- No, this does not give priority.
- What gives priority for a permit?
- Carpooling with other Juniors or Seniors gives priority.
