Mikaela, Head Age Group Coach for Minnetonka Swim Club, joined Minnetonka in 2021 and brings a wealth of experience to the pool deck, recently earning national recognition as a Top 25 Age Group Coach this year.

Having previously served as a lead coach for several years at another club team in swimming, she has a proven track record of developing talent, guiding many swimmers to their first state and zone competitions. Her dedication to the sport extends beyond Minnetonka, as she has served in various leadership roles for Team Minnesota Zones (head coach, team manager, and assistant coach) and Minnesota Swimming All-Stars (team manager and assistant coach).

Currently, Mikaela is the Secretary and Safety/Operational Risk Coordinator for the Minnesota Board of Directors and actively participates in multiple committees. She has also contributed at the national level, serving as a team manager for many USA Swimming's Zone Select Camp and the National Junior Team, and serves on the national Age Group Committee.

With a lifelong connection to the water, Mikaela grew up on a lake and continues to be deeply involved in aquatics, from instructing and lifeguarding to coaching. She holds multiple national certifications for both coaching and lifeguarding, reflecting her comprehensive expertise in aquatic safety and instruction. She genuinely loves coaching and teaching, and her passion is evident in her commitment to creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome.

Now living on a lake herself, Mikaela's love for the water extends beyond the pool deck. When she's not coaching, you can find her out on the pontoon with her puppy Nitro, enjoying the peaceful lake life that has always been central to who she is. Mikaela's ultimate goal is to instill a lifelong love for swimming like she has in each athlete and to help every swimmer improve a little bit each day.
